early type circa 1935, with blued detachable matching number barrel held by a flat-spring, the barrel stamped '.22 CALIBRE' below the rear-sight, turned-down bolt handle barrel lock, blued air-chamber marked 'WEBLEY SERVICE AIR RIFLE MKII' on the left and five lines of patents on the right, trigger unit with side safety, back of receiver with 'L' shaped folding peep-sight, walnut butt-stock with chequered saw-handled grip, grooved hard-rubber heel-plate, the whole retaining virtually all its original finish (trigger unit turning 'purple')
