for 1936, with 17in. barrel signed 'BATEMAN (SPORTS) STROUD, (39 1/2in. overall), dove-tailed fore-sight, elevating rear-sight, rotating loading-tap with lever, plain air chamber (traces of etched details), the trigger-unit with one hole, saw-handled walnut butt-stock chequered at the grip, ribbed end to butt, folded trigger-guard, the under-lever with 'push-button' style release and a good amount of finish
