for 1802, converted to percussion circa 1845, with twist-iron 31in. barrels, the top-rib signed 'JOSEPH MANTON LONDON', no provision for fore-sight, scroll engraving to rib-end and engraved band to breech, platinum plugs, engraved top-tang with sighting groove, slightly curved bevel-edged step-tailed locks engraved with trophies and signed 'JOSEPH MANTON, LONDON', walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, re-blued iron furniture and brass-mounted ebony ramrod, the whole restored; TOGETHER WITH its possible original mahogany storage case, re-lined and re-compartmented in green baize (original parchment trade-label re-attached) and containing a powder and a shot flask along with a period one-piece cleaning rod
