A 10-BORE PERCUSSION FOWLING PIECE OF EXCEPTIONAL LENGTH, no visible serial number,
circa 1825 with later conversion to percussion by drum and nipple, with twist iron 60in. barrel, bead fore-sight, short flat sighting plane at breech with inlet gold poincon signed 'I. Hart HENLEY' in raised letters, deep sighting groove to the plain top-tang, bevel-edged slightly curved lock with stepped pointed tail (traces of engraving, detail obscured), walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture, multiple piece under-barrel rib (detaching in places) originally with three thimbles (two detached, one missing) and iron ramrod
