A BRITISH PATTERN 1827 RIFLE OFFICER'S SWORD TO THE 17th LINCOLNSHIRE RIFLE VOLUNTEERS, circa 1870, with slightly curving 32 1/2in. 'Wilkinson' style blade, blind shallow fuller for two thirds of its length, etched with acanthus foliage, Queen Victoria's crown and rifle regiment bugle together with the inscription 'XVIIth LINCOLNSHIRE RIFLE VOLUNTEERS' (some discolouration to blade and damage along edge), inlet proofmark at forte, iron three-bar 'gothic' hilt with a pierced rifle regiment bugle device, wire-bound sharkskin grip and iron back-strap with integral stepped pommel-cap, together with its iron scabbard (cleaned, frosted and some dents)
