circa 1902, 25 1/2in. sleeved nitro reproved octagonal to round barrel, partially file cut top flat, open sights and two folding leaf sights with white metal sight lines and marked 50, 100 and 150, ramp-mounted bead fore-sight, the breech end engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98. NEW BOND ST. LONDON. WINNERS OF ALL THE "FIELD" RIFLE TRIALS. .250 SEMI SMOOTH BORE', and mounted with a Nickel Supra-Variabel-4-10XE/C/S telescopic sight, serial no. 141302, in quickly-detachable mounts, carved teardrop fences, removable striker disc, manual safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fine beaded border and acanthus scroll engraving, the makers name in scrolling banners, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/2in. highly-figured pistolgrip stock with steel pistolgrip-cap and buttplate, weight 5lb. 4oz. (unscoped) and 6lb. 6oz. (with scope), in its lightweight leather case
