A RARE BOXED .22 BARREL-COCKING AIR-RIFLE, MODEL 'MKII SERVICE', serial no. S13304,
circa 1938, with matching number 25 1/2in. barrel, push-button barrel release, rotating bolt-handled barrel-lock, peep-sight to rear, blued air-chamber with model details and patents, trigger unit with makers name and address, no provision for safety catch, walnut semi pistol-grip butt-stock, ribbed horn heel-plate, the whole remaining in good original condition with some browning to underside of air-chamber and barrel and complete with its maker's browne pasteboard carton with buff model label to outside of lid marked with the 'Birmingham 4' address, the interior clean (barrel compartment divider loose at one end) and complete with an original copy of F.E. Morton's booklet 'Hints On Air Rifle Shooting'.
