AN UNUSUAL 12-BORE 1887 PATENT 'ROUND-ACTION' TRIGGERPLATE-ACTION EJECTOR, serial no. 5237,
30in. sleeved steel to damascus nitro barrels (retaining original damascus top and under rib, and retaining original damascus muzzle section), the rib engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON. 63. PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH.' and engraved '2' at the breech end, steel to damascus joins with gold bands (some losses at breech joins), 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and 3/4 choke, Dickson patent round-action incorporating patents 9399 and 10621 of 1887, use number 834, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, the action and furniture engraved with bold acanthus scrollwork, 15 3/4in. figured stock (slight crack at hand) including 1 3/8in. wooden extension, weight 6lb. 12oz.
