dated for 1872, with round 23 3/4in. barrel marked at the breech 'FOR 1 1/2in. CASE', block and dove-tailed blade fore-sight, small elevating ladder rear-sight, slab-sided receiver with large safety on the right, the right hand side signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS PATENT' over 'N.A & A. Co 1872', the left 'MANUFACTURED BY WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO, BIRMINGHAM', walnut butt-stock (cracked and repaired at wrist), iron heel-plate, under-lever cocking, walnut fore-end, the iron surfaces with some pitting
