30in. nitro reproved chopperlump barrels, ribs engraved 'ALEX HENRY & CO. 22 FREDERICK ST. EDINBURGH. INCORPORATED WITH ALEX MARTIN. 20 EXCHANGE SQ. GLASGOW & 128 UNION ST. ABERDEEN.' (refreshed), the breech ends gold-inlaid '1' and '2' and with celtic plait designs, No.1 left wall at 19, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and full choke, carved fences, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, bold engraving of celtic knots, strapwork and serpents carved in low relief on a matted background, retaining slight traces of original colour-hardening, 15 1/8in. figured stocks (likely replacements) including 1/2in. wooden extensions, weight 6lb. 11oz., in their brass-cornered oak lined leather case

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that gun No. 7966 was completed in June 1921 for a Captain Strachan and that gun no. 8237 was built to match for him, completed on the 16th November 1927
