for 1851, with blued octagonal 5in. barrel signed 'ADDRESS COL. SAML. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA', hinged under-barrel rammer, roll engraved plain cylinder, open iron frame marked 'COLTS PATENT', brass trigger-guard and back-strap (traces of silver plating) and walnut one-piece grip, strong traces of finish, coloured parts stained, together with its English market oak storage case lined and compartmented in green velvet, parchment instruction label inside lid, the tray containing a cleaning rod, double cavity mould, Bartram flask and nipple-key (brass escutcheons missing from lid and lock)
