A BRITISH OFFICER'S 1796 PATTERN LIGHT CAVALRY SWORD, UNSIGNED,
circa 1805, with strongly curving 27 1/2in. blade, traces of etching including a Georgian crown for the first half of its length (possibly originally blue and gilt), the tip false edged for 9in., plain 'P' shaped hilt with rolled quillion and applied broad langets, wire-bound fishskin grip and iron doves-head pommel, complete with its iron scabbard with twin loose suspension rings (staining throughout)
