AN EARLY BRITISH NAVY 1827 PATTERN ENSIGN'S SWORD SIGNED 'EMANUEL', no visible serial number,
circa 1835, with etched quill-tipped pipe-backed 25 3/4in. blade (patchy dark staining, etched detail faint), gilded half basked hilt carved with a fouled anchor beneath a Queen's crown and with fold-down inner guard, white sharkskin wire-bound grip, faceted back-strap terminating in a carved lionshead pommel, much gilt finish remaining and complete with its black leather scabbard with gilt metal mounts and carved frog-button
