A GOOD .44 (RIMFIRE) HAMMOND PATENT SINGLE-SHOT DERRINGER BY CONNECTICUT ARMS CO., no visible serial number,
circa 1870, with 4in. sighted octagonal barrel, the top flat stamped 'CONNECTICUT ARMS & MANF. CO. NAUBUC CONN', the breech with 'PATENTED OCT 25,1864', sheath trigger and two piece chequered walnut grips, breech is unlocked by a stud and pivots to the left for loading

Provenance: This type of derringer, also known as the Bulldog was made circa 1866 to late 1888 with a total production estimated at 8000
