A GOOD CASED .31 PERCUSSION REVOLVER, MODEL '1849 LONDON POCKET', serial no. 2942,
for 1854, with blued octagonal 5in. barrel signed on the top-flat in two lines within brackets 'ADDRESS COL COLT, LONDON' and retaining virtually all its original blued finish, five-shot cylinder roll engraved with a stagecoach hold-up scene, (finish lost) London proofs, open colour hardened iron frame marked 'COLT'S PATENT' and retaining a strong amount of colour, iron grip-straps and trigger-guard (finish faded), smooth walnut flared grip (small loss to left heel) and colour hardened under-barrel rammer, 10 1/2in. overall, complete with its American style walnut case with radiused edges, lined and compartmented in red velvet and retaining an original parchment instruction label inside lid, the tray also complete with an original James Dixon flask, Colt cleaning rod, signed double cavity iron bullet-mould and 'L' shaped nipple-key, brass escutcheons to lid and lock, the lock also retaining the original key
