A GOOD CASED 50-BORE PERCUSSION RECIPROCATING TRANSITIONAL REVOLVER, MODEL 'LANG'S PATENT', no visible serial number,
circa 1850, with sighted blued octagonal 6in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'JOHN BLISSETT'S NEWEST IMPROVEMENTS 322 HIGH HOLBORN, LONDON', open wedge frame, plain six-shot reciprocating cylinder with forward gas-seal, border and scroll engraved boxlock action signed on the left side 'JOHN BLISSETT, LONDON', offset central long-spurred hammer and guarded single-action trigger, finely chequered walnut grip with engraved iron cap and central trap, complex compound linkage rammer below barrel, strong amount of colour and finish remaining throughout; together with its associated oak storage case compartmented and lined in green baize for this revolver, parchment 'Blissett' label inside lid and containing a period mahogany cleaning rod, pewter oil bottle, special nipple key and tin of 'Blissett' caps as well as a scissors mould, good bag-shaped powder flask and turn-screw
