circa 1864, with octagonal 4in. barrel, the top-flat marked 'MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS CO. NEWARK N.J.', plain cylinder with oval engraved panels over each chamber (rubbed) and with twelve locking notches, open iron frame of Colt style, brass grip-straps and smooth walnut grips, the left side inlaid with a clipped corner vacant brass escutcheon, 10 1/8in. overall, weight under 2lbs.
