A 54-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT REVOLVER, MODEL 'ADAMS PATENT', serial no's 21040 & 36845,
circa 1854, with 5 1/2in. octagonal barrel, the right side-flat inscribed 'J. BIRNEY, 47th REGT', the top-strap marked 'TRULOCK & HARRIS, 9 DAWSON ST. DUBLIN' (refreshed), dove-tailed blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, plain cylinder, borderline engraved solid frame with sliding cylinder-lock to left hand side of the recoil shield, double action mechanism, semi saw-handled chequered walnut grip and shallow domed iron butt-cap, Brazier-style rammer mounted to the left barrel flat numbered '695', the whole an older refinish, weight approximately 2 3/4lbs., overall length 12 3/4in.
