AN EARLY 60-BORE FLINTLOCK TURN-OFF TRAVELLING-PISTOL FOR RENOVATION, no visible serial number,
circa 1690, with tapering rifled captive turn-off 3 1/4in. cannon barrel, the barrel retained via and articulated front-mounted bar and swivel-ring, octagonal to sixteen-sided engraved breech signed 'T. COLE', solid squared top-tang, slightly curved and radiused lock signed 'T. COLE' below the isolated pan and featuring a scroll engraved pointed tail, bridle-less frizzen and moulded swan-necked cock (action at fault), root walnut half-stock (numerous breaks and filled repairs, some live), bulbous engraved iron butt-cap with long side-spurs, guardless stud trigger, approximately 9 1/2in. overall
