A .650 FLINTLOCK CAVALRY PISTOL, MODEL '1796 LIGHT DRAGOON TYPE', no visible serial number,
circa 1800, with round iron 9in. barrel, private proofs, moulded band at breech, solid top-tang, borderline engraved flat lock marked with a crown and 'G.R.' below the pan, 'DUBLIN CASTLE' at the pointed tail and fitted with a ring-necked cock, walnut full-stock (old chip behind top-tang) with swollen pommel and brass butt-cap, brass furniture, the trigger guard bow crudely inscribed 'FCIL' (the 'L' possibly '4'), complete with its brass-tipped ramrod, 15 1/4in. overall, weight approximately 2 1/2lbs.
