A 16-BORE FLINTLOCK IRON-BARRELLED BLUNDERBUSS WITH SPRUNG-BAYONET, no visible serial number,
circa 1795, with banded octagonal to round 13 5/8in. barrel, flared and banded muzzle, the top left hand side-flat at breech with London proofs and 'T.K.' maker's mark, folding triangular form fluted bayonet mounted to top of barrel and released via a pull-back catch on the tang, flat, slightly curved lock with stepped tail and signed 'KETLAND & CO.' in script below the pan, no roller to frizzen spring, swan-necked cock, walnut hand-rail full-stock, brass furniture including heel-plate with top-spur, double roll-edged guard with acorn finial and ramrod throat and pipe, original horn tipped wood ramrod with worm end, weight approximately 5 1/2lbs., overall length 29 1/4in.
