A 12-BORE FLINTLOCK BRASS-BARRELLED BLUNDERBUSS, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number,
English circa 1790, with plain round 11 7/8in. thick-walled brass barrel, moulded band at breech, London proofs and obscured maker's mark, squared iron solid top-tang, plain iron bevel-edged lock with swan-necked cock and semi rainproof pan, roller frizzen-spring, walnut full-stock coarsely chequered at the wrist (losses to wood around lock and rear of tang, cracks and repairs along fore-end with further small losses), plain brass furniture with triple-stepped top-spur to heel-plate, rolled edges to the trigger guard, acorn finial and replacement ramrod, weight approximately 5 1/2 lbs., overall length 27 1/4in.
