28in. nitro barrels with 7mm ventilated matt top-rib, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, hold-open toplever, automatic safety with integral barrel selector switch, gold-washed trigger, the action engraved with acanthus, oak leaf and acorn designs, with central gold-inlaid depictions of duck in flight, the left side signed 'VRANCKEN', 14 1/4in. highly-figured semi-pistolgrip stock (cracked through to rear of grip) including Browning buttplate, small crack to fore-end wood, weight 7lb. 2oz.,
Literature: The gun shows a striking resemblance (both in terms of the action and the figuring/features in the wood) to the example illustrated in 'The Browning Superposed - John M Browning's Last Legacy' by Ned Schwing in the final section of colour plates and may be the same gun
