for 1897, with expertly re-blued 24in. tapering octagonal barrel (Parker rifled and nitro reproved), the top-flat signed 'COLT'S PT. FA. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. USA' together with patent dates to 'FEB 22 '87', folding ring fore-sight with ivory tipped bead, dove-tail for rear-sight blanked off, drilled at breech for mounting blocks (blanking screws fitted), blued receiver with automatic sliding dust-cover, bronze loading gate, exposed hammer, folding 'LYMAN' aperture sight fitted to top-tang, fully chequered pistolgrip figured walnut butt-stock fitted with a chequered 'COLT' hard-rubber heel-plate, chequered walnut semi-schnabel pump-handle and under-barrel magazine.
