A 54-BORE PERCUSSION REVOLVER, MODEL 'TRANTER'S PATENT 4TH MODEL', serial no. 22593T,
circa 1859, with octagonal 5 3/4in. barrel, the top-strap with working repair and signed 'BEATTIE & SON 205 REGENT ST. LONDON', the right hand top barrel flat engraved 'C.W. 64TH REGT', engraved band at muzzle, bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, borderline engraved frame marked 'TRANTER'S PATENT', rope-carved border to front edge of the borderline engraved cylinder, semi saw-handled chequered walnut grip, double action trigger (guard with old repair) and fitted with Tranter's patent rammer, finish worn with some loss to detail
