A 25-BORE FLINTLOCK DOUBLE-BARRELLED SILVER-MOUNTED HOLSTER PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1790, with bright blued 6 1/2in. side by side barrels (finish faded), the top-rib and areas forward of breech on both barrels engraved with floral baskets, no provision for fore-sight, broad rear-sight notch with carved side-pieces to the front of top-tang, engraved bands at breech, radiused borderline engraved locks with carved bevel-edged bars and signed 'ESCALERE A PARIS, RUE DE TOURNON' forwards of both hammers, frizzens with roller springs (one frizzen replaced), goose-neck hammers, walnut full-stock carved around the furniture and with semi-birdshead butt, carved floral device around top-tang and inlet silver wire scrolls to wrist, florally engraved silver butt-cap and trigger-guard bow, plain lower tang, turned silver ramrod pipes, flush horn fore-end tip and iron tipped wood ramrod
