A GOOD CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION PEPPERBOX REVOLVER, MODEL 'IMPROVED REVOLVER', no visible serial number,
circa 1845, with colour hardened solid 3 1/2in. six-shot barrel group with London proofs and moulded false side-ribs, engraved axle screw, border and scroll engraved rounded nickel-silver action body with bar-hammer to the top and coin milled leading edge, the action sides signed 'J. BLANCH GRACE CHURCH ST. LONDON' on the left and 'IMPROVED REVOLVING PISTOL' on the right, scroll engraved nickel-silver grip-straps, smooth walnut bag-shaped grips, blued and engraved trigger-guard bow, the whole with light surface storage corrosion but with virtually all its colour and finish and appearing little used in it makers mahogany storage case, compartmented and lined in rose velvet and containing a near mint condition Sykes bag shaped powder flask of the smallest size, a nipple key and loading rod, Blanch parchment label to inside of lid.
