dated for 1855, with round tapering 5 3/4in. barrel, bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight at the front of the solid top-tang, borderline engraved lock with date, 'TOWER' and a 'VR' crown device at tail, walnut full-stock with brass furniture, ordnance stamps to inner wrist and traces of a makers stamp to left hand side, iron belt-hook and loose lanyard ring, captive iron stirrup ramrod, traces of finish
