A FRENCH SENIOR OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD,
first half of the 19th century, with straight 32in. double edged narrow blade engraved near the forte 'MANUFACTU KLINGENTHAL' on the right and 'COURTEUX AIME DU COMPU' on the left hand side, gilded brass 'D' shaped knucklebow carved with floral designs, single lionshead quillion, kidney shaped guard carved with a stand of flags behind a central depiction of a cockerel, plain identical sized folding inner guard, gilded grip-straps with wire-bound mother of pearl grip scales and carved pommel, complete with its gilt mounted black leather scabbard
