A ROYAL NAVY MIDSHIPMAN'S DIRK SIGNED GIEVE, MATTHEWS & SEAGROVE, no visible serial number,
circa World War One, the 17 3/4in. single edged blade etched with the Royal Coat of Arms, a fouled anchor with King's crown, acorns and oak leaves (rubbed, some patchy staining), the brass hilt with acorn quillons to the 'S' shaped crossguard, wire bound shark skin grip and lions head pommel, the black leather scabbard with brass mounts engraved 'A.J. TILLARD' (some creases to scabbard, gilding lost)
