Provenance: The vendor has kindly supplied us with the following information:

The Sauer Tell 22LR was owned by Carl Haxthausen, married to my grandmother in her second marriage. Carl had no children so a son of my grandmother, my father's brother inherited the gun, and after him I inherited the gun.
Carl Haxthausen (1901 - 1993) was a baron and a very well known writer. He wrote numerous books about nature, game shooting and his own life. He also wrote many articles in newspapers about the same subjects. One of these was about his and my trip to a tiny island in the bay of Odense (Vigelsø). I was very young and had just got my shooting license. I will never forget this trip.
A selektion of books:
Jagtbreve (1959)
Fra krat og kær (1963)
På jagt (1964)
Mellem to fjorde (1975)

Carl Maximilian Thorvald baron Haxthausen was born on the 25th September 1901 in Jaegerspris. He studied at Herlufsholm and trained in the timber trade, agriculture and fruit growing.
