with 31 1/2in. barrel fully German Ordnance marked at breech and 'SPANDAU' on the knoxform, block and blade front-sight and ladder rear-sight, the action body marked on the left 'MOD 71/84' and on the right with the year of manufacture '1888', iron mounted full walnut stock incorporating an eight round tubular magazine in the fore-end, the magazine cap with piling spike, he butt with Ordnance inspection stamps, much original deep blue thinning in places
