A LONDON-MADE .31 COLT MODEL 1849 POCKET PERCUSSION REVOLVER, CIRCA 1854, serial no. 5409,
with 5in. octagonal barrel, the top flat bearing in two lines the legend 'ADDRESS COL. COLT / LONDON', and struck with London proofs on the left flat, fitted with Colt's pattern under-barrel loading lever, open top frame stamped 'COLT'S / PATENT' on the left, London proofed five shot cylinder, etched with stagecoach scene and 'COLTS PATENT / NO 409', and fitted with iron triggerguard and backstrap and one piece walnut grips, all matching numbers, action very slightly at fault
Other Notes: The pistol is one of 5000 M49 pockets made at Colt's London factory in 1855
