A SCARCE .22 (L/R) SINGLE-SHOT TARGET-PISTOL, MODEL 'SINGLE-SHOT 3RD MODEL', serial no. 8819 (589),
manufactured between 1909-1923, with blued 10in. barrel (very light frosting to bore), the underside of breech numbered '589', raised top rib signed by the maker and with patents to 1909, the rib also marked 'H. POPE', blade fore-sight, screw adjustable rear-sight blade inlet to the break-open barrel catch, blued frame of revolver style, double action mechanism altered for single action only, later modified anatomical right hand grip concealing the serial number on the front-strap and guarded trigger, much original blued finish and colour remaining
