A CASED .650 FLINTLOCK 'MAN-STOPPER' OVERCOAT PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1815, with 4 1/2in. octagonal barrel signed on the top-flat 'DONCASTER' (some shallow pitting), white metal bead fore-sight, shallow standing notch rear-sight, borderline engraved lock signed 'HANSON' below the pan and with stepped tail, probable replacement cock with sliding safe, engraved bridle and roller to the frizzen-spring, walnut full-stock with chequered bag-shaped butt, escutcheon to wrist and iron furniture including replacement ramrod, in a later walnut case relined and compartmented in green baize for this pistol and including a leather covered flask and a turnscrew
