circa 1890, with round 24in. barrel, block fore-sight, short 'Africa' rear-sight with ladder, standing notch and two flush folding leaves, borderline engraved slab-sided action, the centre of the left hand side marked 'SWINBURN'S PATENT', safety catch and cocking lever combined to right hand side, working replacement straight hand butt-stock, smooth iron heelplate, short under-lever, walnut splinter fore-end and eyelets for sling, the metalwork cleaned with some loss to detail
