German or Austrian circa 1700, with brushed bright swamped 30 1/2in. barrel, applied brass fore-sight, applied carved standing notch rear-sight, engraved band at breech and numbered '1' for a pair, plain top-tang, plain radiused and moulded lock-plate with integral domed wheel-cover, carved hammer, bridle and spring, the hammer with turned finial to the spur, automatic pan cover, moulded walnut full-stock with raised borders around the furniture, carved apron around the top-tang, moulded burr-walnut patchbox cover, raised cheek-piece with floral carving, moulded iron furniture, horn floral escutcheons for the side-nails and 'hogs-bristle' set trigger, complete with a possibly period horn-tipped ramrod (front of fore-end renewed, some old repaired age related splits along remainder)
