30in. bold twist barrels (with Auguste Francotte trademark) with Vienna semi-smokeless powder proof marks rib gold-inlaid 'ANT. FORKL IN DOBRAN', and with ornate gold detailing at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, dent to right tube towards muzzle, rotary-underlever, carved percussion fences, rebounding back-action locks, scrolled horn triggerguard tang, the action and lockplates finely carved in relief with game scenes of fox and duck, fowl, pheasant and rabbit with foliate bordering and a matted background, the top strap with gold line detailing, the lockplates engraved 'A. FORKL.', 'IN DOBRAN', retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening, 13 1/2in. stock with cheekpiece, sling swivels and steel buttplate, fore-end with grip-catch release lever (slight shrinkage and light damage to left edge of fore-end wood), weight 7lb. 9oz.
