circa 1795 with later conversion to percussion via drum and nipple, with slightly swamped octagonal 10in. barrels (possibly re-bored at time of conversion), the top-flats signed 'ALEXR. WILSON SHERRARD STRT. LONDON', gold line at breech, small blade fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights to the trophy engraved top-tangs, plain drums, slightly curved bevel-edged step-tailed lockplates signed forwards of the hammers 'ALEXR. WILSON LONDON' sliding safes behind the scroll engraved hammers, walnut half-stocks (possibly reduced from full) with chequered bag-shaped butts, iron trophy engraved trigger-guard bows with pineapple finials and set triggers, white metal oval barrel-key escutcheons and fore-end caps, replacement wood ramrods, together with a period walnut storage case relined and re-compartmented in green baize, the lid with flush-fitting rectangular handle and lock and hook closure (key absent)
