A 12-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN SIGNED 'KIMBER', no visible serial number,
mid-19th century, with 28 1/4in. shortened rebrowned twist barrels, border and scroll engraved breeches, tang and bar-action locks, the last each signed 'KIMBER', chequered walnut half-stock with enhanced figure, border and scroll engraved iron mounts including trigger-plate with pineapple finial, shield-shaped gold escutcheon, and later brass-tipped ramrod (some discolouration and scattered pitting to iron parts), Birmingham proof marks.
Other Notes: This shotgun is possibly the work of Richard Kimber of Abingdon, Oxfordshire (traded 1842-48)
