A RARE PATTERN 1801 SWORD BAYONET FOR THE BAKER RIFLE COMPLETE WITH ORIGINAL SCABBARD,
issued until 1815, with plain straight 22 3/4in. sabre blade false edged for the last 4 1/4in., the back edge of blade signed 'OSBOURNE & GUNBY', the forte stamped with a crown over '19', plain brass 'D' shaped knucklebow and cross-guard, plain semi-circular turned-down broad langet, shaped brass grip-piece with moulded ribbing, iron release button to the inside and external screwed-down flat-spring to the reverse, the left side slotted for bayonet-bar, complete with its original black leather scabbard (stitching sound, small losses to finish, slight shrinkage) with brass mounts and frog-button
