A CASED 14-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN SIGNED GALLYON, CAMBRIDGE, no visible serial number, circa 1840, with 30in. barrels, engraved top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved bar action locks signed 'GALLYON, CAMBRIDGE', engraved hammers, chequered walnut half-stock bearing an escutcheon at wrist, iron furniture and replacement ramrod (exposed iron surfaces lightly pitted with loss to detail) and complete with a later walnut storage case, relined and recompartmented in green baize with reproduction labels inside lid, the tray also containing an original powder and shot flask with later cleaning accessories and caps
