A MOST UNUSUAL .577 SMOOTH-BORED MUSKET SIGNED TOWER WITH LATER MAORI-DECORATED STOCK, the lock dated for 1856, with smooth-bored 35in. barrel (sights removed. rear sight replaced with a naive peep), borderline engraved military lock, the stock replaced with one of local wood and fully carved in the Maori taste and further inlet with mother of pearl on the cheek-piece
