A NEPALESE .704 BRUNSWICK TYPE PERCUSSION RIFLE, CIRCA 1860, no visible serial number, 30 in. barrel rifled with two narrow grooves, leaf rearsights and fitted with a bayonet bar at muzzle, borderline engraved back-action lock devoid of markings, brass mounted full stock, mounts include large rectangular patchbox and scroll trigger-guard which is engraved with Ghurka army issue markings, complete with sling swivels and original rammer, an attractive gun with history

Provenance: This pattern of rifle was made in the Nepal state armoury and is modelled on the British first pattern Brunswick. It is estimated that 12,000 of these were produced most of which were smoothbore, rifled examples such as this are scarce.
