Product Details

A .577 PATTERN 1861 ENFIELD TWO BAND SHORT RIFLE, CIRCA 1861, no visible serial number, the barrel shortened to 26 in and heavily pitted overall, the lock and hammer also heavily pitted with faint remains of original Enfield and Crown V.R. markings, iron mounted walnut stock which has also been cut-back and now without nosecap, the butt with a crisp Enfield 1st class roundel, the iron mounts also heavily pitted, with replacement brass rod, if in original configuration this would be quite a rare gun as virtually all the Enfield made P61 rifles were converted to Snider breech-loaders.
