J. HARKOM, EDINBURGH 16-BORE BAKER 1866 PATENT ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 1146, circa 1875, 30in. black powder only damascus barrels (with pits and dents), the rib engraved 'J. HARKOM. 32 PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. choke in both, carved serpentine fences, non-rebounding back-action locks with high spurred short nose hammers, action incorporating F.T. Baker patent extractor mechanism, patent no. 403 of February 9th 1866, use number 773, border and acanthus scroll engraving retaining slight traces of colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/2in. figured stock with steel heel and toe plates, fore-end with cross-pin release catch and horn finial, weight 7lb. 2oz.
