A RARE FRENCH NAPOLEONIC POW CARVED BONE BOXED SET OF DOMINOES, DICE AND DIP PEN, circa early 1800s, being a carved bone box with floral decoration and wooden base, the lid with shell finial and designed for scoring, containing a set of nine-spot bone dominoes (3 missing), three bone scoring pegs and two bone dice, together with a carved bone dip pen shaft with later Victorian grip and early 20th Century G. W. Hughes nib; these bone items were made for sale by French PoWs held in England to supplement their meagre rations, box including lid finial 5 1/2in., pen 7in. overall
