A PATTERN 1821 WORLD WAR I ARTILLERY OFFICER'S SWORD circa 1915, with 34 1/2in. double-fullered unsharpened blade with floral etching, 'ROYAL / ARTILLERY' to one side, with crown, coat-of-arms and 'GRV' below sun-burst, 'PROVED' stamped within star and 'BATSON / LONDON' ON ricasso, guard with three bars, fish-skin grip with copper wire and brass pommel, together with worn leather-covered field scabbard, some staining to blade, 42 1/2in. overall
