circa World War I, with 33in. double-fullered un-edged blade marked on the ricasso 'PROVED' on one side and 'FENTON BROTHERS LTD SHEFFIELD / SWORD CUTLERS TO THE WAR OFFICE' on the other, unpierced guard etched with 'GRV' and crown, fish-skin grip bound by copper wire, together with its leather-covered field scabbard, blade with some staining, guard rusted, 39 1/2in. overall
