A PATTERN 1821 LIGHT CAVALRY OFFICER'S SWORD circa 1850, with slightly curving 32 1/4in. single-edged fullered blade engraved with scroll design, 'V R' and crown with sun-burst above, maker-marked 'Hamburger / Rogers / 30 King St / Covent Garden / London', shark-skin covered grip with white metal wire-work, with scabbard, blade heavily polished with some rust spots and staining, hilt and scabbard heavily rusted, 38 in. overall
